Cyclists are thrilled with the way the system works and administrators are happy to finally have a hand-off way to sign up users, manage payments, and gather usage data. By lockers are equipped with an electronic lock that allows on-demand access for multiple users. Bicyclists enroll in the program online, and then use their cell phon to reserve a lcoker and obtain a combination that will open the locker. A similar process is used when the cyclist returns to retrieve their bike.  Cycle-Safe uses Abloy high-security vending machine locking mechanisms, the best locks on the market. Abloy locks have a patented design to resist picking, drilling, and utilize a registered key-control system which makes keys available only through a certified Abloy Service Center. These high security locks are usually an upgrade lock to the OEM food and drink machines, coin and laundry machines, game and amusement machines. Other lock cylinder makes are available (Chicago, Medeco).  Locker providers will not have to worry about copied keys and lock replacement every time the locker changes hands. The Abloy key system eliminates unauthorized key duplication at retail locksmiths by locker users. The Abloy removable lock cylinder and fully imbedded internal T-handle mounting is protected by an indestructible stainless steel surrounding plate as a lock area cover resistant to puncture and other lock attacks. While this superior locking system is virtually impenetrable to vandals, the door lock cylinder is easily changed in the field without special tools. Abloy is designed to deter the professional thief. It features the most difficult key to duplicate in the world. Abloy offers nickel-silver alloy keys (not brass or steel). .002 tolerances means no impressions or key duplications. Harder key material means special cutting machines.  Key-Control Service To prevent uncontrolled key duplication, Cycle-Safe has specified Abloy's patented contract controlled key system. This system makes it impossible for users to duplicate keys without authorization, making Cycle-Safe the most secure bicycle storage locker in the business. An Abloy service center under contract to Cycle-Safe makes keys available to Cycle-Safe owners through a dedicated 800 telephone number. Each service center is assigned a unique registration system and all are required to maintain internal control of key duplication, which is monitored by the Abloy factory.
